About me: My passion for fishing has been embedded in me for as long as I can remember, so much so that these days it’s become more of an obsession. I can’t go a day without getting my fix, and if I’m not out on the water fishing then I’m on the net looking at reports and looking for more gear to buy.

I’ve loved fishing all my life, when I was a kid I always looked forward to the weekend as the family would travel down to the Gold Coast and I’d get to fish! I loved the anticipation of not knowing when the fish would come and loved the thought of out-fishing my dad. As I got older I moved away from what I had known (bait) and gave lures a try. My first attempt at using a soft-plastic lure I was rewarded with a 60+ flattie and from then on I’ve been hooked (pardon the pun). I was privileged to have been able to go fishing with Robert Searing (Damiki and Pontoon21) on numerous occasions and thus was introduced to those products.

It was obvious that his lures worked as I stood at the back of his boat being outfished all-day until he told me to try one out. I haven’t looked back from this point and they have become my go-to lures in any situation, whether that be social or tournament fishing. A testament to this is my absolute favourite lure – the 38mm Pontoon 21 Crackjack DR in Ghost HG Gill. This single lure has caught me over 40 fish and as such has been retired as it holds too much sentimental value to lose. What more proof do you need than a single lure that can be used in so many different applications and consequently be used to catch so many different species.

Having recently bought a boat at the end of last year I try to fish as much as I can, both socially and practicing for upcoming tournaments. I’ve only competed in two so far coming 28th at the Gold Coast Easter Bream Classic and 16th at Round 5 of the Minibucks Bream comps but cannot wait to get more experience and try to move up the ranks.
Ambitions: Qualify for ABT bream grand final and then win one

Favourite fishing areas: Wherever there is structure – whether that be man-made or natural: rockbars/walls, flats, Moreton Bay or Canals I’ll go wherever the fish are and my boat can navigate.

Damiki Armour Shad – 3” Skin Blue & Ox  Blood
Favourite species: Yellowfin Bream, Trevally of all sorts and of course Mangrove Jacks!
