3rd Place for Mitch at ABT Glenbawn
Taking part in the ABT Bass event at Lake Glenbawn in NSW, Team Member Mitchell Cone used his go to soft plastic, the Fish Arrow Flash J Shad 2 inch model to put together decent bags to get a 3rd place finish, here is Mitchs report on how it went down....
"Last weekend I fished round 5 of the ABT Bass pro series at Lake Glenbawn.
With no time on the water leading up to the event I was keen to hit the lake on official practice.
I managed to catch fish easy in the low light and found good numbers of fish. The afternoon on the other hand was difficult and slow grind.
Morning one rolled around and I hit my key area, 20 minutes in and we were upgrading. I used 2" flash J shads in the ever reliable #22 AYU/Silver with a chartreuse dipped tail .
Sitting in 2nd 4.52kg and 10grams off the lead.
The afternoon I raced back to a long shallow point and continued to do laps waiting on a bite period. We put 3 fish in the well in 20 min but had to wait 2 hours to fill the limit. When they turned on, we caught good number of fish but just lacked a kicker.
Ending the day 300grams off the lead holding 2nd.
All or nothing on Sunday and again we caught good numbers shaking j shads off the bottom in 20-25ft imitating smelt and gudgeons. Searching for the big fish till the very end and pushing the limit, I came in with 4.47kg and 1minute and 17sec late. A 100gram penalty that cost me 2nd and relegated me to 3rd place.
All in all, a great weekend on the water. If you would like to catch fish at Lake Glenbawn this time of year, get yourself the most realistic plastics in the world."
