Jarryd Aleckson takes 2nd Place at Gamakatsu Elites
QLD Field Staffer Jarryd Aleckson fishing as part of Team Lowrance took out 2nd position in the first Gamakatsu Elite Series. This new series is a high stakes high reward Teams comp. Bags limits are bigger, entry fees are higher and the payout is heavily skewed to the top. This brings only the most confident of anglers making it a tough competition where anyone could win. Top 3 result for Damiki at Hobie Grand Final in WA
Pro Staffer Michael Maas fished the Hobie Grand Final in WA last weekend and he capped off a great year with a fantastic result for himself and also for the Damiki. Here is Michaels report of the event
" After having a great year in the Hobie Kayak Series with some consistent results and a 5th place in the Dawia Hobie Kayak Bream Angler of the year table, I was looking forward to competing in the Hobie Bream Grand Final in Mandurah WA.
Having very little experience fishing for Black Bream and having never fished in WA, I knew I had my work cut out for me fishing against the top kayak bream anglers from around the country......
3rd Place result for Alan Britcliffe at Toonumbar
In another terrific result for Searing Tackle, Pro Staffer Alan Britcliffe , secured a top 3 finish and qualified for the Grand Final. Here is Alans write up of the event;
"Toonumbar Dam, my favourite Northern NSW bass fishery and host to Round 4 of the Hobie Kayak Bass Series sponsored by Daiwa.
31km West of Kyogle, Toonumbar Dam was built across Iron Pot Creek in 1972. It holds 11 000 mega-litres of water and has a surface area of around 400 hectares when full. This location has a reputation of producing good numbers of bass, and ideally a regular weekend haunt for many a Northern NSW bass angler.........

Pro Staffer Matt Williams fished the BASS Australia Nation Championship last weekend a secured a great result for himself and also for the team. Here is Matts report of the event
"Arriving at Lake Glenbawn for the BASS Australia Nation Championship the night before the 2day prefish, expectations were high with the results of the BASS qualifier 4 weeks prior still fresh in my mind. Big numbers and big bags were the norm during this qualifier, with most caught in deep water on plastics and ice jigs. This, I thought would suit me just nicely as all my prior tournaments resulted in me filling my bags with either vertically hopping blades or jigging the ever reliable Z Glider ice jigs. Not to be...........
